Interview and video with BEAU ~ LIFE LESSONS ~

I have a new music video out for my song “Life Lessons.” It is a very spiritual song and the direction my music is heading. As I said, spirituality is not new to Hip Hop. It was just never expressed to the masses, and it’s definitely an element of Hip Hop that has been sorely missing until recently. I look forward to bringing that side of Hip Hop to everybody.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE TO SING/RAP?

I just recite the lyrics to whatever I’m about to record over and over so I don’t have to read it off the paper when recording. I want it to sound more natural. For live performance I rehearse my set over and over all week. I picture the whole crowd in front of me. It gives me inspiration.

-SPIRITUALITY AND RAP ARE A NEW COMBO HOW DO EACH AND BOTH AFFECT YOUR LIFE?

I wouldn’t say rap and spirituality are a new combination at all. It just hasn’t been brought to the mainstream much. Rap and Hip Hop affects my life on a daily basis. I’m always thinking of new raps in my head and writing them down. It’s also all I listen to for the most part. My slang is rap influenced as well as some of my wardrobe, but more so when I was younger than now.

Spirituality affects my life in ALL areas. It’s all connected. WE are all connected. I meditate almost daily. I am constantly dreaming of the life I want and creating it through thoughts, speech and how I act. I am so inspired by Spirituality. This universe is endless, AND it has my back. It works with us to let us see in reality what we see in our thoughts and say to ourselves and out loud. Everything is energy.
