Krystal Shannan is a born, raised, and current TEXAN. She is
married to a wonderful man who supports her dream of writing and allows her to
spend many evening and weekend hours glued to her laptop. During the day she
moonlights as an elementary music teacher. In addition to a doting husband, a
young daughter is also part of the picture and keeps her hopping! An ornery
little Welsh Corgi completes the household.
Krystal has been writing stories since she could hold a
pencil. She has always dreamed of writing romance and sharing the "movies
in her head" with the world. If she's not writing, she's reading
-historical, paranormal, action, adventure -anything she can get her hands on
that ends with a Happily Ever After!

-A peek into your
future work; what are you working on now?
Ahh…let’s take a peek into the notebook. I’m currently
plotting out two different Fae series, one is a four book series and the other
is a trilogy. I’m also plotting out the next two Vegas Mates books and the next
Pool of Souls novel. I have a couple of other things in the works, but they
won’t happen until 2014.
-What advice would
you give aspiring writers?
View your writing as a career choice. It’s a job that you
have to make time for in a busy life, unless you are blessed enough to already
be able to stay home. My goal is to be writing full time at home when my
daughter starts kindergarten in two years. Make goals. Write them down. Share
them with others who will help keep you accountable. When I started writing
down my goals, I started getting things finished!
-What other creative
forms of expression do you enjoy?
I love photography. I can spend hours tweaking pictures of
my daughter, working with the colorization and special effects. My husband will
also testify that I love to cook and that I’m pretty good at it. Right now I’m
experimenting with the several Paleo recipes. (Meaning no processed food and no
grains). It’s been interesting, but I’m liking it. We don’t eat Paleo all the
time, but I would like to eventually get to that point.
