JacWright~ The Reckless Engineer ~ NEW REALEASE ~

Jac Wright has entered into a publishing contract with Thames River Press to publish the first three titles in the literary suspense/thriller series The Reckless Engineer.

There are millions of professionals in high tech corporate environments who work in thousands of cities in the US, UK, Europe and the world such as engineers, technicians, technical managers, investment bankers and corporate lawyers. High drama, power struggles, and human interest stories play out in the arena every day. Yet there are hardly any books that tell their stories; there are not many books that they can identify with. Jac feels compelled to tell their stories and share these experiences through this series.

The central character of the series, Jeremy Stone, is a highly skilled and qualified Electrical Engineer solving high-tech crime. He tags along with his friends John Stavers and Stephen Barrett, criminal and corporate lawyers respectively, and solves crimes set around corporate environments using his high tech engineering skills. Jeremy is educated at Stanford and UC Berkeley which gives him the liberal attitude that the character needs to use the devices that he designs and manufactures to monitor, eavesdrop, and break into places to catch the bad guys, and to get himself into and out of dangerous situations in the process, without any qualms.

In the first title in the series - The Reckless Engineer - Jeremy Stone's good friend Jack Connor’s idyllic life with billionaire heiress wife Caitlin McAllen and their family in the dreamy seaside town of Portsmouth is shattered when sexy and pregnant Michelle Williams, whom he is having an affair with, is poisoned and Jack is arrested for the murder. Jeremy brings his university friend and top London attorney John Stavers for his friend’s defence.

In the second title in the series - Buy, Sell, Murder - Jeremy Stone takes on an engineering contract to manufacture and install a new CCTV security system for the new London branch of an American investment bank. The story starts with a heist while Jeremy is above the ceiling conducting his cable inspections, and is shot and injured from the collapsing ceiling. When he comes out of the coma and goes in to retrieve the CCTV footage that contains recordings of the heist his assistant engineer at the monitoring station is found dead. Jeremy is arrested on suspicion of murder in order to keep the bank's million pound reward to himself. Escaping from the scene of the crime, Jeremy is now a fugitive investigating the death to find the real killer in a lurid tale of corporate greed and industrial espionage.

In the third title - Mile High Murder - Jeremy Stone hits upon a scientifically significant research result during the course of his engineering work. He sets is assistant engineer Sean to write up and submit the research paper to the most prestigious Scientific Conference and is invited to present the paper at the conference set among the ski slopes of The Mile High City - Denver, Colorado. On the eve of the opening day of the conference the keynote speaker is shot dead. The luxurious conference hotel suites are allocated to the research groups from the most prestigious Universities of the US and the word among whom Jeremy finds his research professors from his Stanford and UC Berkeley days, as well as teams from Cambridge and Oxford University research labs. Jeremy blends among the top researchers and investigates the crime set among the cut through competition in world of cutting edge academic research in a drama rich with suspense at the academic campuses and the luxury ski resorts on the snow slopes of Denver Colorado.Jac Wright
