NEW RELEASE ~ DIRTY SHIRT by JIM LANDWEHR

The Boundary Waters Canoe Area is a mystical, wild place of beauty with its crystalline lakes and untouched forests. In the late 80’s and early 90's my brothers and I went there seeking adventure, restoration, and solitude. Our adventures were numerous, and along the way we discovered that we were more like each other and our long-deceased father than we could ever have imagined. Through fellowship, laughter and the occasional argument, we saw glimpses of him and forged lifelong bonds between us.
In 1991, the BWCA tradition died for nearly twenty years while we pursued careers, marriages and children. Almost twenty years later, we decided it was time to pass the torch on to our children. A new generation of tradition was begun, but before long, tragedy struck and our collective world was turned on end.
So, come along into the thundering rapids, the bug-riddled portages, and the long rides in a vehicle ready for the junk heap. Experience the exhilarating adventure of the Boundary Waters. It will be a trip you will never forget

Biography

Jim  was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has always loved to write, but only recently has pursued taking his passion for the craft more seriously. In 2005, he took a class called Writing From Your Life, which focused on creative nonfiction. The class rekindled his love for the writing. In 2009, he enrolled in AllWriters' Workplace and Workshop which provided a peer critique group that encouraged and stretched him as a writer. He has been enrolled in AllWriters', off and on, ever since.

Jim loves outdoor sports, including biking, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. It was his love of camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota that led him to write a memoir about trips he took to the area with his brothers and friends in the late '80's. The book was accepted for publication by eLectio Publishing and will be available in both ebook and paperback format on June 17th, 2014! More information on his book release events can be found on his Events page.

Jim graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Anthropology. He has been fortunate to be employed in mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for over 25 years, a job he loves. He works as a GIS Analyst for Waukesha County in the Parks and Land Use Department. Jim was certified as a GIS Professional (GISP) in 2005 through the GIS Certification Institute.
