Ticking off Breast Cancer by Sara Liyanage Genre: Autobiography

Sara is a married, forty-something, mother of two and part-time lawyer in London. When breast cancer appears on her never-ending to-do list, Sara's life is thrown upside down...

Ticking Off Breast Cancer is a chronological narrative of Sara’s life from the day of her primary breast cancer diagnosis and throughout treatment. Sara opens up with heart-wrenching honesty, as she deals with the physical, emotional and mental challenges thrown at her by cancer. Accompanying her on the rollercoaster of cancer struggles, are plenty of light-hearted and positive moments. This is a no-holds-barred insight into the day-to-day realities of breast cancer treatment aimed at supporting the patient as well as their family and friends. Packed with helpful to-do lists, Ticking Off Breast Cancer provides thoughtful and helpful advice for every step of the way.

I was diagnosed with HER2 positive and oestrogen positive primary breast cancer on 19 October 2016, aged 42. It wasn’t part of my life plan (which at that point involved being a very busy wife, mother of two children, working part time in the corporate London rat race, general multi-tasker, juggler and spinner of many plates). But I decided to get through this detour with a positive attitude and as much dignity, grace and composure as possible.

Well, with the combination of medical appointments, scans, surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy my dignity, grace and composure all flew out the window at some point. But I did retain the ability to get myself organised and make a few lists. And I love a list. I found myself spending a lot of time researching the practical stuff like what to take to hospital for surgery and chemo, how to alleviate the side effects of chemo, what to eat, how to relax, what to expect from radiotherapy and so on. Researching and making lists.

I found a wealth of excellent online information about going through breast cancer treatment. However, I found the websites completely overwhelming. I wanted to talk to someone who had been through it and who would hold my hand and tell me what to do. I wanted a website which gave me practical advice in one easily accessible place where I didn’t have to go through link after link trying to work out if the information was relevant or not, whilst trying to avoid the untrue/out-of-date/unreliable information. But I didn’t have someone to talk to and I didn’t find that website. Instead I researched around and I separated the wheat from the chaff, noted down a few to-do lists, shopping lists and action plans and put one foot in front of the other along the well-trodden cancer path.

Armed with my trusty lists I have made it through to the other side where I am now basking in the glow of hair regrowth, new eyebrows, new eyelashes, and a renewed energy.

After my treatment came to an end, it seemed a shame for my dog-eared lists to get thrown out but I certainly don’t plan on using them again. Never. I thought they might help other people like me. So here they are: I have created a website, which is what I needed when I was first diagnosed and going through my treatment.

I can’t hold your hand and tell you what to do, but I hope that my website can help make this turbulent journey a little less bumpy for you. I wish you all the best.

When the leaders of the shelter announce their plans to repopulate the earth using all fertile females, Shea knows she will be forced to become a breeder. Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu Audio Set by Kaitlynzq Genres: Adult Literary Fiction, poetry, Romance

The stories within Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu
connect, unfold, interweave many character’s stories
needs, feelings, desires, dreams

contain words of

caresses around
as a cocoon of soft cashmere
accompanied by sweet aroma
allures to intimate nearness
remains a velvet kiss

their threads as two crescent moons
connected under the firelights
that layer the chords, and form the lyrics

all of you entered my world as dawn’s awakening sky of soft palette
my garnet heart melted in iridescence to bloom in sun’s rays
glow in night’s depth as the stars echo the rhythm of my heart
my insides sigh and expand in delight
harmonious blend as our lives
circle the melody

caresses around
as a cocoon of soft cashmere
accompanied by sweet aroma
allures to intimate nearness
remains a velvet kiss

1) What is your author name and where do you currently live?

My author name is my first name, Kaitlynzq, and I currently live in northern California, and have a love for soft, gentle breezes and calm climates. Trees, flowers, the ocean, and mountains are all extremely important to me with how I connect.

2) Can you share more about the concept of your book?

My writing forms into books that are connected as a set of interconnected stories with elements from each
story that interweave in one another as heart’s wave, heart’s song, heart’s breath. Characters with the
same feelings, needs, dreams, desires while each book holds its own unique form. Instead of a chronological set, the books included in a series are inter-connected, meaning interior connected.

My first series, Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu includes Ancient Script of Lovecontu audio poem, Legend
of Song de Light audio book, Legend of Song de Light audio play, and Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu
audio set.

With interior poetic stanzas hinted at in Legend of Song de Light that bloom into full poems in Ancient
Script of Lovecontu to then step within notes of love within Legend of Song de Light, as a “Yes, ..., I, ..., will
meet you tonight.”

And, all three of these books are held gently in my book Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu audio set, and written with poetic prose and touches of romance.

3) And, even more details?
Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu audio set holds the internal vocabulary of a character’s heart, that beautiful space of needs, desires, dreams, feelings, with the undercurrent of the depth of lovecontu a continual rhythm within a heart.

Lovecontu touches as flowers, sounds of a pink glow, song of radiant chords, and continues within the series of interconnected stories Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu.

For the vocal synopsis of this audio set, and more about the series, the following link will guide you to the playlist on my audio streams for Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu

4) What inspired you to write this book?

Within my books, I include delicate symmetry of colors, music, and flowers. Sometimes as symbolic metaphors, and
other times as literal connections, within a character’s experiences that at times, link with another character’s
experience. Moment by moment, layer by layer, that become a story.

My inspirations come from the interior spaces within my heart, within other people, and within precious natural
elements like the layers inside of a tree. And, in the night time depths of my heart the idea for this series continued to unfold to join in the daylight hours to reveal even more as I wrote.

5) Do you have an author website and/or blog?

blog & audio streams newsletter signup form: http://eepurl.com/dN-AFj

6) What genres do you like to read? Are you open to reading new authors and reviewing their work?

I love adult literary fiction, poetry and romance, and these are the same genres that I write in. New authors are as wonderful as any author along the spectrum of their life and artistry.

I don’t review authors’ work; however, I have created a collective book box subscription that focuses on the beautiful depths of poetry, and highlights the full color wheel of poets. If any poets are interested in being included in one of the editions for hearts’ poetry, more information is available here kaitlynzq.com/poets-center

I would be honored to have a conversation with you about the opportunities to include you in hearts’ poetry...

a special extension and collection of the artistry of poets
each of their heart’s natural language, imagination’s dance
their words stream into sounds of lyrical compositions that form the stanzas
lines and notes that connect together into poems as their unique
heart’s wave, heart’s song, heart’s breath
heart’s breath, heart’s song, heart’s wave

and are woven into each month’s hearts’ poetry

7) As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?

It is difficult for me to explain within one animal, because I connect with many animals...butterflies gentle way they float in the air, snow leopard and their soft, intense depth of their eyes, horses and their elegant way, bigfin reef squid and its beautiful way of bioluminescence in the sea, a hummingbird’s dance, eagle’s long wingspan, axolotl and their kind expression, little blue penguin’s precious tenderness, and my list goes on and on.

And, my love of these precious beings are part of something that I’ve designed called giving tree, where 25% of sales goes to a charity within books, theatre, radio and nature. For more information about this community sharing extension, and to synchronize your purchase with the current month’s giving tree moments, please visit these pages

Welcome back to Snug Harbor, where the memories of a lifetime can become the dreams of tomorrow…

**easily read as a standalone!!**

I kill houseplants. There. Now you know one of my greatest shames. I'm not boasting. I just figure that if you're reading this, you're looking for more than how wonderful life is as a writer. You get enough of that elsewhere. Ditto for political rants, how to lose thirty pounds in a week, and creating gorgeous crafts with nothing more than twine and soup cans. My goal is to connect with you, dear reader, even if you're not a writer, not a New Yorker, not a mother, not a female. We're human (unless one of us is a spambot), and what we have in common is flaws. So here are a few more of mine:

I sing all the time. I sing songs most people don't know--jingles from television, crazy stuff I used to listen to on Dr. Demento, Broadway and movie soundtracks, and I can even bum-bum-bum through instrumental music. I sing in the car. In the shower. While I'm grocery shopping. And I headbop while I sing. When I'm not singing, I talk to myself. Just ignore me and move on. You get used to it after a while.

I don't eat my vegetables. Seriously. I only started eating salad about ten years ago, but I'd still rather have a cookie.

Given the option, I would live in a mall where I would never have to worry about freezing temperatures or too much sun. I'm extremely fair-skinned and could burn under a 60-watt light bulb.

I can't sleep without background noise so the television's on all night. If it's too dark and too quiet, all I have are my thoughts. And even *I* don't want to be alone with my thoughts.

Don't ask me to Zumba, line dance, or march in the parade. I have absolutely no rhythm.

I color outside the lines. Not because I'm a rebel, but because I suck as an artist. My artistic ability is limited to being able to draw Snoopy sleeping on his doghouse. And I don't even draw that well.

Regrets. I have more than a few.

My favorite activity is sleep, and I'm pretty good at it. I don't clock a lot of hours, but I can powernap like a Persian cat and rejuvenate within ten minutes.

I consider shopping and dining out excellent therapy for anything wrong in my life.

My feet are always cold. Always. My husband of more than a quarter century claims it's because I'm an alien sent to Earth to destroy him. (He might be right about that.)

Coming to my house for a visit? Unless you've given me plenty of advance notice, be prepared. My floor will not be vacuumed, there will be dishes in my sink, and I only make my bed when I change the sheets once a week (I'm climbing back into it ASAP. Why make it?) Housecleaning is not high on my priority list. Okay, to be totally honest, it's not on the list at all.

I can resist anything...except ice cream.

Since this is our first date, I figure I've revealed enough secrets for now. But if you've read this bio and think I might be the author for you, pick up one of my books or stalk my website: www.ginaardito.com
