Hi! I’m your guest author Sarah Zolton Arthur. Thank you for stopping by to learn about The Princes of Stone and Steel. I’m really excited for you to read it. For those of you who don’t know my name, I’m generally known as a cross-genre romance author. My most notable works are my Brimstone Lords MC series. But that’s not what we’re here to talk about.
See, I’ve been writing my entire life. I wanted to be a writer when I was growing up but my parents told me ‘writing is something you do for fun’ and I, unfortunately, believed them. Cut to the chase, life happened and I ended up shelving that part of me for years. It wasn’t until I found myself a single mom after my husband suddenly passed that I had to reconfigure my life. My oldest son has special needs which made a 9-5 job outside the home pretty much impossible.
One day I woke up to this book Twilight being the biggest phenomenon in the world. I’m one of those people who discovered them backward. That’s to say I saw Robert Pattinson starring in a movie about vegetarian vampires and had to go see. Going to see it once ended up meaning 20 times. It was at the cheap show by then. I loved the movie so much that I bought the books.
That’s how this rollercoaster of a career started. I read Twilight and it sparked something inside me, that love of writing that I’d shelved years ago got dusted off. I sat down and wrote my very first novel which has never seen the light of day because it’s totally the first pancake.
Back then indie publishing became a thing, but YA PNR or fantasy wasn’t what was selling and that’s how I got into the genres I started writing in. So I’m here to tell you, don’t always listen to your parents.
I’ve lived all over the country but the majority have been spent in Michigan and Kentucky, so you’ll notice that all my books, including The Princes of Stone and Steel, take place in Michigan or Kentucky because I like to write about places I know well.
